August 2007

The Bush Recovery Fund is a tender based system for allocating incentive funds in the Northern Rivers CMA region. Funds are available for works that conserve and enhance native vegetation on private lands and certain Crown lands. Types of works funded include stock control and weed management.

When are the Funds Available

The Bush Recovery Fund has been running since 2005, Round Three is due to open in late 2007.

Eligibility

Landholders with private, leasehold, Rural Lands Protection Board, Trusts or local government lands in Northern Rivers CMA are eligible to apply. Landholders must be prepared to enter into a conservation agreement with the CMA for at least 10 years.

Eligible Land

The vegetation to be protected must be greater than 3ha in size and be comprised predominantly of native species. Areas of native vegetation <3ha in size may be eligible if running alongside a waterway or if the community is rare. Most wetland vegetation communities are eligible.

If the property has received incentive funding in the past, new funds can not be provided for the same area unless the conservation agreement has lapsed. Incentive funds can be provided for other areas on the same property.

How Do I Apply

Application is by a tender system. Applicants must supply a completed Expression of Interest (EOI) form to the CMA detailing the funds requested, works proposed and the type of agreement (including duration) the landholder wishes to enter into with the CMA.

EOI forms will be posted on the Northern Rivers CMA website when BRP- Round 3 opens later in the year.
